Jeeps are way over rated. They come from the factory with weak drive trains that must be upgraded for serious Off-Road use. There light drive trains may be ok for light trail use with stock suspension and tires but thats it. If you plan to upgrade make sure to add money in the budget for New Axles, and Heavy Duty Suspension Part. Jeeps (CJ, YJ, TJ, JK) are also not very family friendly they provide limited space for a family and gear for the trail. I will admit that Jeeps have helped this sport along and that the enthusiasm of there owners is great, But having owned one I will never go back. Wheeling a full Size 1 Ton or larger is the only way to go.
